Ordering a Pizza Online
March 17, 2008
Last night I ordered a pizza for the first time online. It was an interesting experience. The great thing about doing it online is that I had a lot of time to think about the options that I wanted, which is great for someone who spends so much time making decisions. I also didn’t have to deal with anyone over the phone, another great feature.
The only issue I saw was that, since it was my first time, right after I ordered it… I spent the next 30 minutes wondering whether they had gotten my order or not. Since I had not received any sort of confirmation from a person; I did get one by email, but of course that was a machine.
Anyway, I was fairly happy with the results. I ordered a small pizza with pepperoni, bacon, and sausage… just in case you were wondering. I would recommend the service if you haven’t tried it out.
They also have a feature where you can “plan” a delivery online. I think it’s about 24 hours in advance, you can schedule a time for the pizza to arrive. So if you are having some sort of get together tomorrow at 6:30 PM. You can tell the pizza people ahead of time what you’re going to order and by when you need it. I don’t know whether this feature works, or how well if it does since I haven’t tried it. So if you have done this, let me know if it’s good!

I also order pizzas online. Out of about 20 times so far they’ve never made a mistake yet. I don’t think they’ve ever been late on their estimated time, either. They have been 10 minutes early a couple of times. One bit of advice - pay with cash. At the beginning I paid by credit card - the delivery guy takes an imprint of your card at your door - and the very next day I was the victim of credit card identity theft. What a pain that was to fix. So now it’s cash only for that, though no connection to them was ever proven as far as I know. Sometimes you can order several days in advance. 5 days or so before the Super Bowl they sent me an e-mail asking if I wanted to order early because that Sunday is their busiest day of the year. I didn’t order. You can also order early in the morning before they open, then they will deliver it after they open the store and make your pizza. I also order groceries online - http://www.Vons.com. They deliver right to your door.

@smithjones, I’m sorry to hear that. Yeah, I paid by cash because I didn’t want to give out my credit card to a new service that I was trying out. I did not know that Vons offered that. I know other groceries that do that, but from the east coast. So that’s good to know. Thank you.

So I was sitting here at my computer, clearing out my old bookmarks and I stumbled upon your blog.
And then I cried emo tears because I realized that I haven’t talked to you in literally over a year. And that’s super triste Romina.
I miss you :( Are you ever coming back to Miami? And by ever, I mean anytime in the recent future (ie summer). Or will your fabulous acting career bring you anywhere near the greater Durham, NC area (doubtful) :(
Anyyyway, I miss thee. Facebook me slash email me soon (et2006[at]gmail[dot]com).

Though I was a bit scared to do this as well, I discovered it’s a great way to get some grub delivered to the office! I loved not having to use the phone.
